Warning: slight mention of mpreg

Ohno couldn’t sleep until late at night after that kiss,   thinking of what he had done to the man? But what done was done, and he already did it. Every time he closed his eyes, all he ever sees was Jun’s fluttering eyelashes, he felt the way Jun’s smooth lips moved against him and how Jun’s breath became ragged as he got their kiss deepened. God, if his leg was not broken, and his son wasn’t sleeping in the next room, he must have ravished that man on the spot. That was what he had thought at that moment, but now, in the bright sunlight, all those scenes replayed in his head and he couldn’t help feeling stupid.

How on earth could he let his hand wander freely? Feeling the smoothness of Jun’s thigh, the tautness of his chest and soft yet firmed stomach skin, where had he lost his mind to? No wonder Jun pushed him away. Who wouldn’t run away from such unreasonable heated, despicable manners? He himself didn’t have the right justification on his action except he really attracted to Jun.

It had never happened before, Ohno could swear he was straight, otherwise, how could he got Kazu? He never had a problem with gay people, but then Jun came and ruined all his principals. He thought he will be just fine raising Kazu on his own, that they both didn’t need anyone else in their life, he vowed he would never re-married, focusing all his attention on his only son. If in his private life Jun had turned his world upside down, in his professional life, was not better either. He mixed his professional and private life, the thing he despised a lot.

He remembered sitting straight last night, watching Jun’s back next to a deep sleeper Kazu, thinking how the man could sleep easily while he had this maddening storm in his head at that moment. The fact Jun was kissing him back was all that matters for him. How the man circled his porcelain arms around his neck, pulled him closer was all that matter, at least he wasn’t the only one who wanted the kiss, he thought. He didn’t know how and why he could finally fell asleep, but it must not be so long because he felt dizzy from the lack of sleep the next time he opened his eyes.

That morning after was nothing but awkwardness happened between them. Jun went with Kazu for picture hunting, leaving with no words for him and when the pair returned, Jun just helped him packing again for their back home trip, of course, Kazu’s too. He wrapped their snowballs souvenir carefully, packing it in the boxes it came with. He made onigiri for them to eat on the way but not once Jun looked at his eyes, even on the train back. Jun refused to come back with them to their house and insisted on getting off at his station, still without looking at Ohno in the eyes. Well, that was frustrating enough.

“Why Jun-san just went home like that? And why he’s not sleeping here anymore?” Ohno’s steps to his apartment halted halfway when he heard the acquisition tone in his son’s voice. He couldn’t help cringed a little, it was nice to hear his son talking to him again, but not with that tone, he’s still the boy’s parent. Ohno just sighed; pulled out his key to opened the cold dark door and carefully maneuvered his crutches into the house.

“Dad, did you do or say something to Jun-san?” His son still demanding some answer, in which Ohno couldn’t answer clearly. They had just returned from the onsen trip and his leg was killing at that moment, not to mention, Jun wasn’t there with him to handle his son, all thanks to his unbelievable act.

“Dad, you must have done something.” Kazu crossed his hands over  his chest, looking unamused for a boy his age.  Now, how could he ever tell his son that he got rejected? He didn’t think so. He just sighed deeply, dragging his bag to his room and closed the door, he needed time to think alone.

***

Ohno sighed for the nth time, Monday had just started, he had piles of blueprints he needed to look on his office desk. It was hard for him to reach his office if Okada wasn’t there to help him. His business partner picked him up that morning and clearly disappointed when he saw Jun was not in his house again. Okada didn’t say anything, but Ohno knew that man must have sensed something off.

“Stop it, it’s a bad omen to sighed deeply early in the morning like this.” Ohno was surprised when a ball of paper landed in front of him. He adjusted his seats, carefully as not to move his casted leg. He looked up to find Okada stood by his office door, hands folded in front of his chest.

“Why, what else did that designer do wrong this time?” Okada pulled the chair in front of him. There was nothing wrong with the design actually, but this one clearly not what Jun made. Ohno believed it was Jun’s idea because they had discussed it earlier, but the drawing was not Jun’s hand drawing. The lines were drawn not as sure as Jun’s, the drawing was messy compared to Jun’s neat one, and most of all the initial was AM.

Ohno sighed again, not knowing how to start his story. It was clearly seen, Jun was avoiding him, even on work. He didn’t know how he could contact that handsome designer again after this. Since he usually called in term of work or Kazu, now that he couldn’t have worked as his disguise, and Kazu had most probably contacted Jun directly, what excuse should he make this time? He sighed for the last time before Okada really stood up and slapped his head, turning the blueprint toward him. Ohno just glanced at the older one, couldn’t really get angry with his long-term best friend.

“You look pathetic, you know that?” the ugly truth from Okada that Ohno didn’t bother to deny. He took another blueprint drawing for parking floor, intending to continue his work while he saw Okada pulled out his mobile and dialing whoever number that Ohno could care less about.

“Ah, Good morning Sho kun, how are you?” Ohno's head snapped up when he heard the first word Okada said to his phone. “Sorry to bother you so early, but we just review your firm drawing, will it be possible to have Matsumoto san elaborate his idea here?”

Ohno look at Okada, wait for some minutes that Sakurai might have to explain him something. The crease on Okada’s forehead was not something Ohno took as a good sign, but he still waited, rather less passionately, thumping his fingers on the desk.

“Is that so? So, Matsumoto-san went to Osaka for your next project? That must be hard for you, but also good sign ne, that your firm develop well.” Okada chuckled after a while of silence.

That struck Ohno again, Jun went to Osaka? When? They just got back last night and why the man didn’t say anything about going to Osaka today to him? Or did he maybe inform Kazu?

“No, that’s okay Sakurai-san, you can send anyone to explain the drawing later. Will wait for your further information, have a good day to you too.” Okada hung up his mobile, looking at him expectantly.

“Please tell me you know he went to Osaka.” that was the first question from him, which made Ohno looked down on his fingers. What was that again Jun said about his project in Osaka? That the project would be his stepping stone in his career, that if it succeeded, he would lead the office there. In Osaka.

“Yeah, he did say something about Osaka, but I didn’t think he will go this soon.” Ohno still looked at his fingers, twirling it around each other. He honestly thought Jun won't go there, Jun said that Ohno confused him? But Ohno was the one who was confused too. Why would a workaholic like Jun miss the big opportunity for being branch leader, besides what could he offer for the man to stay? Ohno groaned in frustration, there’s so much inside of his heart that he couldn’t say out loud. He didn’t want Jun to leave, but he didn’t know what to offer for him to stay. And why would Jun stay anyway? A chance of playing house with him and Kazu while he himself didn’t understand what was those longing, attention seeks, the attraction he felt to Jun and of course, no guarantee, Jun felt the same attraction towards him. But he kissed him back, his head whispered. Ohno unconsciously touched his lips. He still could feel Jun's lips lingered there.

“OMG! Don’t tell me you kissed him?!” Okada’s yell broke him from his monologue inside his head. Ohno refused to answer, vastly removed his fingers from the lips. Gosh, he was not a kid like Kazu, he shouldn’t be so engrossed by such kiss, should he? He felt his face getting hotter and that made him a great target for Okada to tease him the whole day.

***

‘Why you didn’t you tell me you went to Osaka?’ it was late at night when Ohno finally laid on his bed, crawling to get there to be precise. He got the chance to look at his unsent Line message. He was opted to send it during lunch, but canceled it, thinking it was too demanding. Heck, even now, he thought it was still demanding. He deleted the message and started to type another one.

‘Hi, how was it in Osaka? Hope everything went well’ Ohno deleted it again. Too casual, and seemed like he was stalking Jun, even though he actually did, the person himself didn’t need to know.

‘Kazu got his cast off today.’ Ohno deleted it again. Why would he involve Kazu in the conversation? And he knew his boy must have informed his condition directly to Jun. He banged his head into the pillow, moving as fast as his legs allowed him to.

‘We really need to talk.’ that was the last sentence he wrote on his Line message. He spent a good 30 minutes before he decided not to send it anyway. Not before he could get his own answer about the talk they needed to do. What was Jun for him? And what was him for Jun? Would Jun stay if he asked? But what for? Himself or Kazu? Because no matter how much Ohno loves Kazu, he won’t accept it if Jun’s attention was divided to his only son or making his son the reason of some sort of ‘blackmail’ for Jun to stay. He needed more time to think. He closed his tired eyes, letting himself drawn to sleep without he noticed, his thumb hovering over the sent button.

***

“How’s feel to be free again?” Okada asked him when he went out the doctor’s room, free from the cast that had been on his leg since one and a half month ago after the fallen elevator accident. Ohno just grinned, feeling no weight on his leg anymore, even if the brown big gauge still lingered and he still needed a walking stick, it did feel free.

“Damn it feels good. What you say if we go for a drink?” Ohno offered. He pocketed his phone after he was sure he had sent his free of cast leg to his son, and made sure his son was with Aoi, helping her babysit while she prepared for the baby’s birthday on  weekend. At least now he didn’t need to worry about his son. So he skidded into Okada’s car and they went out to their favorite bar and restaurant near there.

Ohno laughed heartedly hearing Okada’s story about his baby, reminding himself during Kazu’s baby time. He was a deep sleeper, but when Kazu was born, the boy’s cry was his alarm that always awakened him up every time, and he missed those moments, as he honestly admitted to his business partner who at that moment chose to look at him deeply.

“Hey, Satoshi, why don’t you tell the truth to Matsumoto-san?” Ohno choked on his drinks once he heard the name Okada said. He grabbed the tablecloth and coughing, hiding his mouth behind that dusty brownish cloth.

“What were you talking about?” he threw the linen to his drinking mate.

“Well, it’s quite obvious you two are attracted to each other, and Kazu seemed to recognize your relationship, so what stops you?” Okada sipped his beer casually, as casual as his question, in which Ohno decided not to answer, yet. Instead, he ran his eyes around the dimmed restaurant. His sight was stopped when he found a familiar back towards him.

“Is that Sakurai-san?” he pointed at the direction of the corner of the restaurant where two men were sitting, just couple of tables from them. Okada turned his seat and look at the same direction, although his face clearly shown a warning so that Ohno didn’t switch the subject, again.

“Well, you’re right, he’s with Aiba-san.” Ohno raised his eyebrow hearing the second name, he never heard it before.

“You know, that AM initial who send the latest drawing to our office? Aiba Masaki if not mistaken, that’s him, I met him on site.” Okada tried to explain but when Ohno just nodding, he added. “Well anyway, you haven’t answered my question, and please don’t try to switch the subject.”

Ohno was about to answer honestly, about how he was not confident enough to try and get an answer from Jun. All doubts of whether the man had truly liked him or just attached to his son. Some conversation he knew he only did to Okada like they used to do since they were still in college. But his attention was drawn to another table, when Aiba, as Okada said earlier started to get emotional.

“What do you mean you don’t know?” Aiba’s voice got into his ears, it sounded so depressed that Ohno and Okada turned towards the resource. The pair seemed didn’t aware they had gained an audience, glad the restaurant was still relatively empty so only several other guesses at the front, away from their seats.

“I’m pregnant! I’m sure you know how!” the tone was not lowered even though Ohno could see Sakurai was holding the man’s hand, trying to calm him. He glanced at Okada, really didn’t know if they should stay there and listened to their heated conversation. Aiba’s eyes went wide as he struggled his hand free from Sakurai’s grip. This time, Okada was the one looking directly to Ohno. He signaled them to leave the place, it was not their place to overhear such argumentation. Ohno nodded and hurriedly asked for the bill.

“Is this because of Matsumoto san? You said you two are just business partner.” Ohno turned on his seat faster than ever once he heard Jun’s name was mentioned, Okada worried face was not enough to keep him from over-hearing.

“I’ve told you, that’s not it!” Ohno seemed not to recognize the Sakurai that was just slammed his hand onto the table.

“Then what is it? You said you will lead Osaka branch so you can stay with me, but now you sent Matsujun there, and now you’re questioning about this pregnancy. What else should I hear from you?” Aiba now sobbed quietly and Ohno felt sorry for the man.

“It’s my mistake that came between you isn’t? I shouldn’t have worked with you from the start, I should have known you always have your eyes on Matsumoto-san.” that Aiba cried freely, so Ohno decided he had heard enough. He grabbed the bill from the waiter who just came and saw a glance of drama happened at the corner of their restaurant. He just paid the bill and slowly walked out the building.

So Sakurai had always liked Jun? Then why he had to send Jun to Osaka? And why he didn’t say anything when he found Jun in his apartment? Ohno still thought about what he heard inside as he waited for Okada to get his car. He sat on the stool in front of the restaurant, thinking.

“Oh, Ohno san.” Ohno looked up and surprised to see Sakurai stood in front of him, behind him was that Aiba he saw inside. He smiled awkwardly, didn’t really expect to see them more or less seeing Sakurai approach him, but seemed he was not the only one who got nervous by their meeting as he felt the smile on Sakurai’s lips was a little bit off. “I don’t know you’re here.”

“Ah yes, Okada and I were just having dinner,” Ohno answered shortly, hardly know how to get the conversation going and if it was fine for him to get noticed he was overheard all that was said inside just now. But he couldn’t really let that go.

“Ah yes, I haven't gotten a chance to congratulate you. I heard your office will be opening a branch in Osaka.” Ohno smiled at Sakurai who nodded his gratitude.

“I don't know where you heard that, but thank you, and hope for your kind support in the future too.” Sakurai scratched his cheek slowly. If what he heard was true, maybe a little play of possessiveness won't do any harm. “Jun told me last night before he went there.”

“He was a little worry though when he told me about leading the big project there,” Ohno added while massaging his leg a little, hoping his discreet message got through. “But don't worry Sakurai san, we're all professional, aren't we? I'm sure Jun will be able to finish the project as effective and as faster as possible.”

“Y...yes, I believe he will. I'm grateful for your support and encouragement for Jun so far Ohno san.” Sakurai’s smile still on his face but Ohno really couldn't see the kindness got to his eyes.

“I will support whatever Jun wishes to do, don't worry.” Ohno added and he could feel his sincerity in his voice before adding, “Besides, it won't be long before he will return here anyway, and we had planned for another onsen trip, the three of us.”

“I'm sorry for saying this Ohno san, but are you sure Jun will spend his time babysitting your son if he had the chance to be head of our branch?” Ohno wished he could snap the grin on Sakurai’s face that moment, but he just tightened his hold on his walking stick, finally stood up when he saw Okada car approaching.

“So that's why you send him away to Osaka.” Ohno nodded his understanding. It was all clear to him, so Sakurai used Osaka as a reason to separate them. “Like I said, Sakurai, I will support whatever Jun choose for his happiness, but I will not allow him to throw his life for someone who is not even brave enough to admit his baby.”

Ohno walked pass Sakurai as Okada stepped out of his car. He didn't want to attract more attention than he already got now. He walked passed the pair before he stood up in front of Aiba who he had been attentively listening to their conversation. “Congratulations on your pregnancy.”

***

It was a couple of weeks after his meeting with Sakurai, nothing had changed, their firm still worked together on the project they're assigned on, but Ohno decided not to be involved further. He spent his time checking on design calculation of their upcoming projects. He still not got through to Jun, but he was sure the man was alright when he overheard Kazu talked on the phone with the man. It seemed like Kaz asked for his pasta recipe and was making pasta when he was home two days ago. The pasta turned out great actually, which made Kazu so happy and Ohno was so glad to see the smile on his son’s face. He was so sure Jun would return as soon as he finished his project and he would take the man for a dinner and they could start to talk about them, privately as men, not as the father of a son. Ohno was eagerly looking forward to that day, but a commotion at the lobby took him away from his design calculation.

“Where is he?!” Ohno looked up in confusion as he stared at Sakurai redden eyes. “You must hide him away or he would never request unpaid leave for indecisive time! What had you say to him?!”

Ohno blinked passively, trying to understand what happened. Who asked for unpaid leave? Why Sakurai had to be so mad. But then the answer came to his head, Jun.

“Jun! What happened? What's wrong with him?” Ohno walked toward the taller, barely noticing Okada shushed everyone out of his office before he closed the door behind him.

“Come on, we can talk this through nicely. Have a seat Sakurai san.” Okada tapped the man shoulder, gestured  to the chair next to him.

“Jun submitted his leave request, along with his handover finished project documents. I tried to call him but he's not answering.” Sakurai still looked like he wanted to kill him but he didn't care. All he cared was Jun might go missing.

“Is it possible he was sleeping, or maybe on the train back here?” Okada tried to give options.

“I checked his hotel, he had checked out since yesterday noon. The report was received this morning. No one knows where he went to.” Sakurai hadn't finished his word when the office door opened harshly and Kazu came in with lost of breath.

“Dad, are you okay?” Kazu ran toward him, ignoring other men in the room. Ohno now got more confused, but he held his son nonetheless. “I'm okay, don't need to hurry, we'll meet at home aren't we?”

“But Dad, why was Jun-san sending me this then?” Kazu extended his phone and it was clearly seen his chat with Jun which the last sentence from Jun was 'take care of your father for me too.’

“Dad, where's Jun-san?” Ohno shut his mouth, he didn't know what to say to make his son believe him, he even didn't believe himself when he said, “He'll be alright son, he'll be alright. Everything will be fine.”
